Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] Global Delays Game’s Closure to Late June
The official North American PR Twitter account for Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] has announced that the game’s closure date has been delayed from May 20, 2021, to June 29, 2021. This delay is due to the final story episode of the title needing to be split into 2 parts.
Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] was initially meant to conclude back in April of this year with 1 final update. Still, this conclusion has been delayed considerably due to what can be assumed to various internal factors meshing with the global pandemic. On the bright side, these delays grant players a generously extended avenue to experience the title in its final year of operation.
Additionally, for those unaware, the game tethered to Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] on its app, Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, was stated to be going offline this month as well. However, given this recent delay, Dark Road may still be playable for the next month.
Either way, sometime in these coming months, Kingdom Hearts Dark Road will be undergoing a significant hiatus and relaunch this Fall with the remainder of the story. It is unknown if microtransactions will be worked in, if there will still be combat, or if it will just be a glorified theater mode.
