Skillful Kingdom Hearts Modder Recreating Traverse Town In Kingdom Hearts III
Kingdom Hearts modding has always been a vital facet of the community, with fans expressing themselves through their creations. Recently, a prominent figure in the community, Caleb Moore, has been hard at work with recreating the original game’s Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts III. He has been sharing updates on his progress via his Twitter account, and each new showing has been rather thrilling. The First District has been the primarily showcased area, and it looks absolutely gorgeous.
Personally, Traverse Town is my second favorite original world in the franchise, and I’ve always had a bunch of sentimentality for it. Seeing it recreated in a modern engine is equally jarring and dream-fulfilling. The world emits such a cozy atmosphere entirely unique to itself, separate from the likes of Twilight Town. While Twilight Town is more relatable regarding setting, Traverse Town is more whimsical and fantasy-like, yet still affixed to a certain degree of realism. It’s just a stellar world. This fan-build is giving Traverse Town a fresh yet still familiar identity that I can’t wait to see fully realized.
I’m excited to see Caleb post continual updates on this project and see its finished build, however long that might take.
