Kingdom Hearts Manga Artist Shares Crossover Art with Parasite Eve

The official artist for the Kingdom Hearts manga series, Shiro Amano, has shared completely unexpected artwork, comprising a crossover between Kingdom Hearts and Parasite Eve. The official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account also retweeted this artwork.

This illustration celebrates the 21st Anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts franchise and Amano’s roots as having worked on a Parasite Eve gag manga years ago. In fact, Nomura reading that very same manga is what caused him to ask Amano to draw the Kingdom Hearts manga.

Our team’s Ryuji translated Amano’s thread:

“A long time ago, Tetsuya Nomura read the gag manga about Parasite Eve and invited me to draw the comic serialization for Kingdom Hearts.

Incidentally, for those wondering, the gag manga has not been published in book form, nor is there any plan to do so. The number of pages is not enough at all, and the content is too awful…I would be very happy if you could hold it in your memories…

To say that it is bad is honestly an understatement because it is one of my very first manga [that I’ve drawn], and if, by chance, you were one of the readers who said they liked it and found it interesting, thank you!

The manga also has many, many expressions that are simply unacceptable in this day and age, and I am ashamed of the ignorance of my past self. If I had to choose the right words to describe it, it would be “very bad”. My apologies.”

Amano also emphasized that there is no connection between the two IPs.

Check out our review of Kingdom Hearts Dark Road.

In Kingdom Hearts IV, Sora is in Quadratum with Strelitzia, a prominent character from Kingdom Hearts Union χ. This setting is an afterworld for the two characters following their tragic fates. Additionally, this new saga has been titled the Lost Master Arc. Further, some combat footage was showcased, with Sora performing Keyblade transformations against a giant entity that seems to be a Heartless? We don’t know for sure.

“The heart resides within the soul, which in turn is guided by fate to its rightful place” is a crucial phrase used at the start of this trailer for the upcoming mainline game.

Kingdom Hearts IV is in development with an unknown release date and unconfirmed platforms.

Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link will launch for mobile devices via iOS and Android at an unknown time.
