Kingdom Hearts III Mod Replaces Lingering Will with Lingering William, Will Turner

A somewhat recent Kingdom Hearts III mod by dallin1016 and KaminoX has actualized a beloved Kingdom Hearts meme. Lingering Will, the remnant of Terra whose existence is partially comprised of his rage toward Xehanort, has been replaced by William Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Why was this made? Well, I don’t really know the origins, but for a while, there’s been this meme about Lingering Will being Will Turner, assumedly because of the shared “Will” in their names. I vaguely remember a Kingdom Hearts II mod implementing this feat, though it’s neat to see it in Kingdom Hearts III with far higher-quality character models.

Will Turner, from The Carribean world, takes the place of Lingering Will, who only appears at the Keyblade Graveyard at the end of the base game. I’m guessing this also applies during the Re Mind scenario’s new scenes.

In Kingdom Hearts IV, Sora is in Quadratum with Strelitzia, a prominent character from Kingdom Hearts Union χ. This setting is an afterworld for the two characters following their tragic fates.

Additionally, this new saga has been titled the Lost Master Arc. Further, some combat footage was showcased, with Sora performing Keyblade transformations against a giant entity that seems to be a Heartless? We don’t know for sure.

“The heart resides within the soul, which in turn is guided by fate to its rightful place” is a crucial phrase used at the start of this trailer for the upcoming mainline game.

Kingdom Hearts IV is in development with an unknown release date and unconfirmed platforms.

Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link will launch for mobile devices via iOS and Android at an unknown time.
