Kingdom Hearts Dark Road Western Launch Date Confirmed Same As Japan; Later This Week
Recently, the official Western Twitter accounts for Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] and Kingdom Hearts Dark Road confirmed that the latter title will be fully launched on August 26, 2022.
While this news was initially shared earlier this month via the Japanese Twitter accounts and the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary recap videos, there was uncertainty about whether Dark Road’s release would truly be worldwide. The only factoid that suggested a worldwide release was the English 20th Anniversary recap video, but no official English Twitter accounts or press releases added on to this information.
Moreover, both Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] and Kingdom Hearts Dark Road have unfortunate histories of having their updates delayed globally with no prior notice or explanations soon after. So, having two English Twitter accounts corroborating Dark Road’s global launch is immensely reassuring.
Here’s hoping the time gap isn’t too significant, at least. During instances where the mobile games received simultaneously worldwide updates, there was still around an hour or so of waiting for Western audiences. Still, that’s far more agreeable than hapless alternatives.
The initial tweets from the aforementioned Twitter accounts correlating to Dark Road’s launch are viewable below:

In Kingdom Hearts IV, Sora is in Quadratum with Strelitzia, a prominent character from Kingdom Hearts Union χ. This setting is an afterworld for the two characters following their tragic fates. Additionally, this new saga has been titled the Lost Master Arc. Further, some combat footage was showcased, with Sora performing Keyblade transformations against a giant entity that seems to be a Heartless? We don’t know for sure.
“The heart resides within the soul, which in turn is guided by fate to its rightful place” is a crucial phrase used at the start of this trailer for the upcoming mainline game.
