Kingdom Hearts Concert- Second Breath – Announced 2023; New Message from Composer Yoko Shimomura

Square Enix has announced a brand-new incoming Kingdom Hearts concert titled “Kingdom Hearts Concert – Second Breath -.” So far, there are only plans set in stone for Osaka on February 19, 2023, and Tokyo on March 18 and 19, 2023. Additionally, tickets are purchased via a lottery-based system, with only the winners being charged once they’re selected.

There are two price tiers, ¥10,000 and ¥7,700. The former provides the lucky winners a music box that plays “Dearly Beloved,” while the latter is solely an entry ticket. Applications for the lottery are currently available via Square Enix Japan until December 25, 2022. Moreover, lottery winners will be contacted on January 5, 2023, and then repeatedly until January 9, 2023, if any errors occur.

The concert’s conductor, Kaoru Wada, has stated that the performances will comprise almost entirely new arrangements. He was a part of the process for some of them, too.

Lastly, the Kingdom Hearts franchise’s composer, Yoko Shimomura, shared a new message.

The following passage was translated by our team’s Ryuji for coverage via an article I published for the Kingdom Hearts fansite, KH13:

“The Kingdom Hearts Concert is coming back once again! This gladdens me to no end.

After the final performance at the KINGDOM HEARTS Orchestra -World of Tres- at the end of 2019, I asked myself: “So when would we be able to hold the next concert??” I am very happy to announce that we will be able to present a concert with a new program sooner than I had initially expected. I hope that this concert will take you on another musical journey of the Kingdom Hearts series and that it will once again be a breath of fresh air.

We look forward to having a wonderful time with you at the venue. May your heart be your guiding sound.”

I beat every Kingdom Hearts III Limit Cut Data Fight and Yozora on Critical Mode via the Nintendo Switch Cloud port.

In Kingdom Hearts IV, Sora is in Quadratum with Strelitzia, a prominent character from Kingdom Hearts Union χ. This setting is an afterworld for the two characters following their tragic fates. Additionally, this new saga has been titled the Lost Master Arc. Further, some combat footage was showcased, with Sora performing Keyblade transformations against a giant entity that seems to be a Heartless? We don’t know for sure.

“The heart resides within the soul, which in turn is guided by fate to its rightful place” is a crucial phrase used at the start of this trailer for the upcoming mainline game.
