Official Kingdom Hearts Armchair Priced at $2,200 USD; At Least You Can do the Nomura Chair Pose Authentically
An incredibly questionable piece of Kingdom Hearts merch has just been elucidated with an absurd price point.
As part of an event in Japan between April 26 and May 8, the Disney100 THE MARKET is live at the HANKYU Department Store Umeda. Located in Osaka’s Kita Ward, several items are available for pre-order and/or viewing alongside a specially designated photo area.
And one of the series being represented there is Kingdom Hearts on the 9th Floor’s Art Stage. Bizarrely, one of the Kingdom Hearts items on display here is a branded armchair priced at a staggering ¥297,000. For a better sense of perspective for Western fans, that roughly translates to $2,200 USD.
Although disappointingly, it lacks any symbols from the games to make it stand out. Instead, it looks like your everyday armchair. Will this item be made for sale on Square Enix’s digital storefronts? It’s honestly possible.
The one constant stream of news for the Kingdom Hearts series, even amid a drought like what we’re currently in, is the countless merchandise announced. From apparel to items to decorate your home with, there is no shortage of merchandise for this series, which I suppose makes sense, given Disney’s involvement. Still, perhaps it’s gone a little too far this time.
Plus, for anyone who may purchase this armchair down the line, they can do the iconic pose some of Tetsuya Nomura’s characters do while sitting, notably Sora, Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII, and Noctis from Final Fantasy Versus XIII, specifically.
You can view a tweet from a fan at the event showcasing the Kingdom Hearts armchair below:

Check out our review of Kingdom Hearts Dark Road.
In Kingdom Hearts IV, Sora is in Quadratum with Strelitzia, a prominent character from Kingdom Hearts Union χ. This setting is an afterworld for the two characters following their tragic fates.
Additionally, this new saga has been titled the Lost Master Arc. Further, some combat footage was showcased, with Sora performing Keyblade transformations against a giant entity that seems to be a Heartless? We don’t know for sure.
“The heart resides within the soul, which in turn is guided by fate to its rightful place” is a crucial phrase used at the start of this trailer for the upcoming mainline game.
