Visual Arts and its subsidiary Key have announced that anemoi will be released in English. According to a post on the company’s X/Twitter account, the Steam version is currently being produced and will feature the option to play in Japanese, English and Simplified Chinese.
A New Visual Novel from the Legendary Key
Key is a legendary visual novel developer that has worked on multiple classics in the genre. Mostly known for their “nakige” (as in dramatic, emotional titles), they have produced games, like Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters and Rewrite.
anemoi is their next big game from the writing team behind Summer Pockets, which has an ongoing anime adaption. Character illustrators Na-Ga, Humuyun and Nagayama Yuunon also reprise their role with the addition of Kimishima Ao (Kimagure Temptation, Einstein Yori Ai o Komete).
The game is expected to hit Japanese retailers and digital stores on January 30 2026. The timing of the Steam release, however, is currently unclear and should be announced at a later date.

Slow Life on the Countryside
anemoi tells the story of a young man called Hayakawa Mugi. Along with his younger sister Rikka, he visits to the peaceful town of Masumi. Though their time there is limited, Mugi decides to make the most out of this slow life compared to the hustle of the big city.
There, he will get the chance to get closer to various girls. One of them is Awayuki Hiiro (voice: Chiharu), an eccentric and curious girl who lives in the observatory and is looking for beautiful things and the meaning of life.
Another is Shirato Koyomi (voice: Aizawa Saya) who works at the town’s only post office. She’s a somewhat naive and humble girl who sees her work as a mission and puts a lot of effort into doing it properly.
There’s also Tsujikura Spica (voice: Hiratsuka Sae), a mysterious girl who lives in a trailer at the edge of town. She keeps her distance from the locals, but she is very kind to the elderly and animals.
Fusaba Aino (voice: Naganawa Maria) repairs turbines on the edge of town and works on some dangerous experiments. She and her father live near the town workshop.
Finally, the protagonist’s younger sister, Hayakawa Rikka, is also a main character in the game. She’s voiced by Suzumi Sakura and is said to be a supportive sister who always supports Mugi and is trying to find a suitable wife for him.
