Retro-Style Side-Scroller ‘Kemono Heroes’ Surprise Launch on Switch Today

NIS America announced that the Mad Gear Games-developed retro-styled side-scroller Kemono Heroes has launched on Nintendo Switch in the West.

Kemono Heroes has players take on the role of a Ninja Master who is on a mission to break the Moon God’s spell. Evidently, Tsukigami, the Moon God, has transformed the creatures of the forest into stone, which leaves only the four Animal Ninja Masters with the ability to stop her. There are four characters to play as, each with their own abilities and unique powers to fight through hordes of evil spirits spread across the forest.

The game also features upgradeable equipment along with items to collect throughout stages.

Kemono Heroes has a multiplayer mode where players can play with up to four other friends to get through the game together.

The publisher released a new trailer for Kemono Heroes showing the game running on Nintendo Switch. Viewers can get a preview of the game’s visuals and characters.

Additionally, the publisher has two more announcements coming on March 3 and March 5, which will reveal more about their upcoming line up of games.

Kemono Heroes is available now on Nintendo Switch.
