Katana Zero Receives Nintendo Switch Release Date and New Gameplay Trailer

Devolver Digital announced that the askiisoft developed action game Katana Zero will release on Nintendo Switch and PC on April 18.

Katana Zero is a 2D side-scrolling action game that is set in a pixilated new-noir world. Surprisingly, the game does not have a health bar, making the game a hardcore instant death game, but all hope isn’t lost for those who aren’t too versed in the genre. Even though this sounds like an impossible adventure, there are plenty of skills and abilities that the player can use to get through the game’s level.

During a new gameplay trailer, that debuted on the Nindie Showcase, players got a glimpse of the moves and actions that can be used to take enemies down. With that said, there is one interesting mechanic that allows players to rewind time and try out situations again to plan out the perfect way to get through levels and, well, not die. The game also features a conversation system between NPCs that the player can interrupt during a mission.

Katana Zero will launch on April 18 on Nintendo Switch and PC. Fans can also pre-order the game on the eShop today.
