Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story Coming West to PS4, Switch, and PC Later This Month
Spike Chunsoft announced that their action-adventure Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story will launch digitally on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam on February 20 in the west, the same day as Japan.
Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story tells the story of Japan’s Meiji Restoration in the Rokkotsu Pass. Players will follow the swordsmith Dojima as he falls into debt and his daughter is taken from him as collateral. To repay his debt, he’ll need to craft swords by day and explore dungeons of the Ipponmatsu Cave by night in order to collect valuable materials.
During gameplay, players will hone their skills of over 100 different weapons and 9 fighting styles to fit a player’s playstyle. Players explore dungeons through a Japanese setting from an isometric view. The battle system features hack-and-slash mechanics and systems where players will utilize different skills to get through enemies as they collect materials for crafting. The game also features familiar faces from previous Way of the Samurai titles.
Additionally, DLC will be available for free during launch week, which will include:
