Kadokawa Reveals “Simulpubs” Initiative to Bring Manga and Light Novels to the West Quicker

Kadokawa Corporation is no stranger to the manga and light novel community. The company has its hand in other companies and subsidiaries such as Yen Press and Book Walker Global to bring the medium west. However, they understand that waiting six months to a year is a long time for western fans to get their hands on volumes and chapters of their favorite series. So, they are announcing “Simulpubs.”

Simulpubs is the name for their push to release many of their manga with the Japanese release via Book Walker Global. Light Novels will also be included and released as chapters as soon as they are finished.

Currently, the company has selected seven manga that will kick off this new venture. These titles have not been previously released in the west, but the publisher felt they were requested enough to be the first series in this program. The titles are:

• A Boy Raised by Gods Will Be The Strongest (manga) – Art: Toya Kuno, Original Work: Ryosuke Hata, Character Design: fame.
• I’m Quitting Heroing (Manga) – Art: Nori Kazato, Original Work: Quantum, Character Design: Hana Amano
• Magic Stone Gourmet: Eating Magical Power Made Me The Strongest (Manga) – Art: Kenji Sugawara, Original Work: Ryou Yuuki, Character Design: Chisato Naruse
• My Little Sister Stole My Fiancé: The Strongest Dragon Favors Me And Plans To Take Over The Kingdom? (Manga) – Art: hi8mugi, Original Work: Ten Kashiwa, Character Design: COMTA.
• The 31st Consort (Manga) – Art: Tsubasa Nanaki, Original Work: Momotomoe, Character Design: Nanao Yamashita,
• The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne (Manga) – Art: Yukino Amagai, Original Work: Tanba, Character Design: Yunagi
• The Lotus Eaters, Drunk and Sober (Manga) – Art: Mizutaki, Original Work: ZUN
• Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway (*the official title name to be determined) (Light novel) – Author: Shimesaba, Artist: Booota
• I’m Quitting Heroing * (Light novel) – Author: Quantum, Artist: Hana Amano
• The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne * (Light novel) – Author: Tanba, Artist: Yunagi

The light novel titles will be distributed in October.

The publisher has also revealed a campaign where fans can download the first three chapters of the seven manga above for free, now through September 1, 2021.
