Sony Interactive Entertainment has posted a blog entry announcing that the company plans to reveal some of the games available for their upcoming PlayStation 5 console when it launches on holiday 2020.
Sadly, this event is geared towards games only, and the company has no plans to reveal the box at this time. When announcing the PlayStation 4, Sony has taken a stance that it is just a box and that it’s the games that matter, so it seems like they are taking that approach now. However, there’s still hope that they show something resembling the machine that gamers are looking forward too.
The event will take place on June 4 at 1 PM PDT on Twitch and YouTube.
The games being shown “represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware.”
The digital showcase will run for an hour and will be the first part of a series of announcements that they have planned for PS5.
In case you missed it, the Dualsence controller was revealed as the new controller for the PS5 hardware. The company is ditching the DualShocker name to tap into your senses for immersive gameplay.
