VIZ Media Makes First 7 Chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Free to Read in Honor of Anime’s Premiere
VIZ Media announced this morning that it will be making the first seven chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen free through Shonen Jump to celebrate the premiere of the series’ anime adaptation. The manga, which began serialization in early 2018, has gained a large following in Japan and has recently begun to gain traction in the West.
With over 120 chapters released in English via “simulpub,” there’s plenty of Jujutsu Kaisen content for fans to read on the Shonen Jump website.
If the first seven chapters aren’t enough for you, you can completely catch up on the series by becoming a member of Shonen Jump. For $1.99 a month, you can unlock the entirety of Jump’s digital backlog (that’s over 10,000 chapters of legal, officially translated manga). If you are already caught up with Jujutsu Kaisen or your other favorite Jump series, the most recent three chapters of every series are always free to read.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s anime adaptation began airing overseas and in the West today and is streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll in North America.
The official description of the first volume of Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga on VIZ’ website states:
Although Yuji Itadori looks like your average teenager, his immense physical strength is something to behold! Every sports club wants him to join, but Itadori would rather hang out with the school outcasts in the Occult Research Club. One day, the club manages to get their hands on a sealed cursed object. Little do they know the terror they’ll unleash when they break the seal…
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the future manga releases from VIZ.
