Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash Teases Playable Sukuna During Anime Expo 2023 Panel

During the Jujutsu Kaisen panel at Anime Expo 2023, attendees were able to watch the streaming trailer of Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash. However, at the end of the panel, the team showed off a screenshot of the playable characters, with one character only shown as a silhouette.

Currently, the only playable character confirmed as Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushigoro, Nobara Kugisaki, and their teacher Satoru Gojo. However, the silhouetted design was easy to make out, showing the outline of Sukuna. The total roster has been confirmed to have 15 characters at launch, meaning we have 11 more character announcements to go.

Sadly, we can’t show the images because they were not allowed during the panel, and we want to respect the wishes of the license holders. We aren’t sure if Itadori will be able to transform mid-fight or if you’ll have to choose Sukuna from the menu. However, the panel promised more news will be delivered in August.

In the source material, Itadori made a pact with the King of the Curses after swallowing one of his fingers and absorbing his power. This makes the possible match-ups in this game interesting, given how much-cursed energy this character possesses.

Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash is the new game from Bandai Namco in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Gameplay has players create a team from the anime’s cast of Jujutsu Sorcerers and Cursed Spirits to utilize their Cursed Techniques across 2v2 matches. The game has players enter area stages where players can play through the anime’s original story and watch Itodari and his crew fight back against curses that plague humanity. The game will remain faithful to the anime and promises a roster of fifteen characters at launch.
