Astrolabe Games released a free demo for their action-adventure JRPG, Souls of Chronos, on PC via Steam. The game doesn’t have a release date, but it is also in development for consoles.
The demo for Souls of Chronos can be downloaded now and picks up at the beginning of this adventure. Players can explore the fantasy world, meet characters, and get a preview of the battle system.
Souls of Chronos takes place fifteen years after an event known as the Apocalypse. In the town of Astella, gangs and secret societies are on the rise, and each faction is clashing to get the upper hand in the city. The city is on the brink of collapse, but this is when a young boy and girl named Sid and Torii meet. Sid is facing impending death, and Torii has the power of Chrono.
Chronus, a novel species that appeared suddenly post-Apocalypse, has the ability to manipulate time. Once bound to a “Linked” by the mysterious “Chrono Pact,” a Chronus will be able to reach its maximum power as its ties with the “Linked” grow stronger. During the game, Sid and Torii will work together to learn more about this power.
Souls of Chronos is an action RPG with a few different available party members. Players can complete main and side quests as they earn rewards to level up their weapons and characters. The game features Mandarin voiceover and has text options for English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
