Turn-Based JRPG ‘Mugen Souls’ Releasing West for Switch April 2023

Publisher EastAsiaSoft announced that the Idea Factory-developed JRPG, Mugen Souls, will launch for Nintendo Switch on April 27, 2023.  A new trailer accompanied this news, highlighting the cast, gameplay, and spicy minigames.

If you missed it, check out the game’s opening movie trailer.

Mugen Souls was initially released in 2012 by publisher NISA on PlayStation 3. The Switch version will include all extra content accurate to the original Japanese release. This means the altered CGs and removed “washing” mini-game will finally be available in the west. Further, the game will include English language support for both text and audio.

A limited edition of the game will be available, with only 3000 copies produced. The Limited Edition includes a manual, soundtrack CD, art book, sticker set, and numbered certificate in a collector’s box at $59.99 plus shipping. Standard copies will also be available as an open pre-order at $39.99 each.

Mugen Souls follows Chou-Chou on a mission to conquer the universe. The game is an over-the-top JRPG with turn-based combat. Players can explore environments, fight enemies, and hang out with customizable minions. During gameplay, players must destroy crystals on the battlefield to activate Hyper Mode, execute combos and use Moe Kill techniques to enslave enemies, transforming them into items by exploiting their weaknesses.
