Visual Novel ‘Jiangshi x Daoshi’ Available Now for Free on PC in the West
Fruitbat Factory announced they will publish the Dendo Denkido-developed animated visual novel Jiangshi x Daoshi on PC-via Steam and itch.io for free.
The publisher has confirmed that this release includes both Jiangshi x Daoshi Episode I – Boy Meets Girl, and Episode II – The Fable of the Fake Elixir of Life. Episode III – Lady Hexers will release later this summer.
Jiangshi x Daoshi is set around a story full of Chinese vampires, dao priests, assassins, and immortals. When former assassin Luan is attacked by man-eating creatures, he is saved from certain death by a wandering dao priest, Ling Ling. At that time, neither of them know what tribulations yet await them.
Jiangshi x Daoshi initially released in Japan in 2014 as a 17+ novel. It seems that this release will have an edited version available on Steam, which has contains cut content, and the original release will be available on itch.io, with the page stating “Note: This is the regular, unaltered version of the game.” Side note: there’s also a Steam patch available to restore the content from the game’s website.
Jiangshi x Daoshi is fully voiced in Japanese and supports English and Japanese language text options.
The publisher also released a new trailer highlighting the characters and animated scenes. It also gives viewers a preview of how violent the game can be.
