The MADE IN JAPAN booth will make its PAX West debut this September, bringing 12 playable Japanese indie games to the event alongside LUNAR PULSE Game Director Yosuke Shiokawa. Organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the booth will be open from September 4 through September 7 at Booth #817 in the Expo Hall.
JETRO is also preparing a MADE IN JAPAN COLLECTION Steam showcase featuring more than 600 Japanese games. The showcase is scheduled to go live on September 2 at 10:00 AM PDT and will remain available throughout PAX West.
Shiokawa is the founder, CEO, and Game Director of Fahrenheit 213, which will showcase its upcoming game LUNAR PULSE at the event. Before establishing the studio, Shiokawa worked at Square Enix as a game designer and director on titles including Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, and Dissidia Final Fantasy. He later joined DELiGHTWORKS, serving as creative director and producer on Fate/Grand Order.
The MADE IN JAPAN booth will feature projects from solo developers and independent studios, although the full lineup of 12 playable games was not detailed in the announcement. Happinet, publisher of Mononoke no Kuni, will also attend PAX West. Representatives from Fahrenheit 213 and Happinet will be available for in-person and email interviews during the event.
Attendees who play one of the demos and complete a survey can receive an event-exclusive MADE IN JAPAN lanyard while supplies last. Promotional tote bags will also be available to media attendees visiting the booth, subject to availability.
