Is Kojima Teasing New Metal Gear Style Game From Death Stranding Director’s Cut Trailer?

During Summer Game Fest 2021, Geoff Keighley took a moment to interview game director Hideo Kojima to talk about his upcoming projectors.

He spoke about how the world has changed, and he is re-thinking his creative process, like others in the industry. He’s considering how to entertain the world during a tragic time. However, he is not ready to reveal what he’s working on, and he’s still recovering from the pandemic, and he has to think about the next project.

He wouldn’t mind it if an alien came into his game since it wouldn’t matter much about the current state of the world. This would allow him to make up any concept or ideas. However, he did mention that he likes to include societal elements as a base in his games. Still, it looks like he still needs time to think about it, but it will be entertaining.

However, after the interview, Kojima-san shared a new trailer for Death Stranding Director’s Cut, which revealed a slight head nod to the Metal Gear series where Norman Redus’ character Sam Porter Bridges takes a box off a shelf and jumps inside it.

We aren’t aware if this is a joke or possibly hinting at what the developer is planning next, but we are looking forward to whatever this may mean. Kojima-san is one to meme, though, so it could mean absolutely nothing.
