Grimdark Fantasy RPG ‘Iratus: Lord of the Dead’ Gets First Major Update

Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer Unfrozen have released their first major update for the grimdark fantasy RPG Iratus: Lord of the Dead — out now for PC-via Steam Early Access. The free patch adds new minions, enemies, artifacts, and features.

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s included:

  • Two new minions to the ranks of the evil necromancer Iratus — the Unfrozen (available to everyone) and the Infested (exclusive to owners of the Supporter Pack)
  • Three new enemies — the Shadowelf, Ataman, and Gargoyle
  • The new “Endless Rise” mode is available to all players who crave a unique challenge by diving into never-ending dungeons
  • Furthermore, the update comes in with new spells for Iratus, dozens of new artifacts, and a variety of balancing and UI improvements

This isn’t the last update for Iratus: Lord of the Dead by any means, as the developer has mentioned, via a press release, that they continuously update the game and expand it throughout early access with new content, features, and improvements.

In Iratus: Lord of the Dead, players take on the role of the resurrected necromancer, Iratus, who seeks revenge against those who imprisoned him for a millennium and kept him from completing his goal for complete world domination. A necromancer is ain’t any good without any loyal subjects to help out, so Iratus has the power to not only make but also control a loyal army of living dead: skeletons, zombies, banshees and many other unliving warriors. How does one make this kind of army? Well, that’s easy — by using the body parts of slain enemies, of course! With an evil gang of hellish servants to back you up, it’ll be up to you to help Iratus get the revenge he so desperately desires.
