Old-School FPS ‘Ion Fury’ Reveals Aftershock Expansion in New Trailer

3D Realms and 1C Entertainment announced that the old-school first-person shooter Ion Fury will receive an expansion named Aftershock on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Summer 2021.

The developer released a new trailer showing the content with the expansion along with new stages and weapons. The expansion picks up after the events of the first game as Shelly Harrison is celebrating at a bar. However, an explosion interrupts her and she races off to put a stop to the noise problem. In this entry, players can expect to ride through levels on a Hover Bike and using a variety of new weapons.

The expanasion aso includes an Arrange Mode, which enhances the original game with new enemies and weapons.

“Aftershock continues Shelly’s story in the best way possible: with rockets and high-speed chases,” said Mike Nielsen, CEO of 3D Realms. “We love seeing the Build engine continue to grow and Ion Fury: Aftershock does some awesome things that we can’t wait to share with you.”

Ion Fury is influenced heavily by Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, and Blood. During gameplay, players can duck, jump, climb, swim, and of course, shoot their way through levels. The console version will run at 60fps and feature the same gameplay elements found on PC.
