The Two Key Components to Inti Creates Games are “Mecha and Girls”
During Anime Expo 2019, Japanese developer Inti Creates hosted a panel on developing action games with lots of characters.
Hosted by Producer and Localization Editor Matt Papa and President and CEO Takuya Aizu, the two discussed what makes their games special. Most specifically, the developer disclosed what makes their games so special. Sure, Inti Creates has developed some of the most well-received action platformer games in the past such as Mega Man Zero, the Gunvolt series, and Blaster Master Zero. However, they revealed that the two key components to their titles are, in fact, mecha and girls.
Why you might ask? Well because receiving and interacting with old men in games doesn’t seem fun to them. Instead, they believe that players who receive information and orders from a cute girl with ties to some sort of mecha element will be more inclined to do the request without question or just do it because they can’t say no to the girl.
This would make sense by looking at the line-up of games from the developers and the characters within them. Interestingly, this approach to delivering 2D action games seems to be working well for them since their recent titles have all been well received by players.
We reviewed the developers newest titles, Dragon Marked for Death and Blaster Master Zero 2, and each, do indeed have some mecha elements and girls.
Currently, the developer is working on Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX.
