Focus Home Interactive announced that the New World Interactive-developed multiplayer shooter, Insurgency: Sandstorm, will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 25.
After gaining over a million players within its first year on PC, Insurgency: Sandstorm is a tactical shooter with realistic systems. Gameplay revolves around close-quarters combat and objective-oriented goals through cooperative and competitive modes.
Insurgency: Sandstorm aims to bring its hardcore and realistic gameplay to console, which includes the attack vehicles and destructive artillery fans know from the PC version. During gameplay, players will need to customize their characters and load-outs in hopes to survive the continuous pushing of the opposing team. The console version promises to bring the “highly details visuals” of the PC version to console along with the audio design and clear positional voice-chat.
Additionally, the publisher released the first trailer for the console port, giving viewers a preview of the game. The trailer also gives viewers a chance to see the game’s modes as well as the co-op team deathmatch.
At this time, we don’t know if there will be cross-platform support, but that is a feature that shooter fans have requested in recent years.
