Ballpoint Pen Adventure ‘Inked: A Tale of Love’ Reveals August Release Date for Consoles in New Gameplay Trailer
Pixmain announced that the Somnium Games-developed ballpoint pen adventure Inked: A Tale of Love will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 27, 2021, for $9.99.
Further, the Steam version of the game, released in 2018, will receive a new update that adds additional story elements and improved animation. This is to bring it in line with updated console release and the recent iOS and Android versions, which had been renamed to Inked.
During gameplay, players assume the role of a nameless hero who is looking for peace. However, after his true love is taken from him, he sets out with a magical paintbrush to get her back. This is a hand-drawn adventure stylized with strokes of ballpoint pen landscapes. Players can journey through 10 words completing puzzles and interacting with the world. Each puzzle will require the paintbrush to be used in some way with a focus on connected the player with the journey.
The console release doesn’t add additional stages and doesn’t differ largely from the experience that PC players have. This makes it largely a release for new players, but it’s exciting to note that this will give more players the chance to play through this game they may not have known about.
