Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai Reveals New Story & Bond Memory Details; New Screenshots

Square Enix has shared new gameplay details for their upcoming action JRPG Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai, regarding story mode and Bond Memories.

The previously discussed story mode will have players experience the source material up to the battle of Sovereign Rock, with tougher fights the further one progresses. For those yearning to have a purely story-focused experience, the Storyteller difficulty is selectable for considerably reduced challenge.

Another previously revealed feature is Bond Memories, visual representations of The Adventure of Dai manga that can be equipped to the cast for enhanced combative prowess. The number of Bond Memories one can equip will also increase as characters gain levels.

Bond Memories can arrive in Silver, Gold, or Platinum rarities, with examples listed below:

  • A Sliver of Pride
    • The scene where Popp responds to Crocodine’s question at Romos Castle.
    • This memory increases a character’s magic-related stats.
  • The Thirst for Victory
    • A quote from Flazzard that sums up his ultimate goal of victory at all costs.
    • This memory mainly enhances a character’s physical attacking abilities.
  • Dai’s Air Slash
    • This scene shows Dai using the special Avan Style Sword Technique, “Air Slash.”
    • This memory enhances the damage dealt by abilities and increases the power of the “Air Slash” move itself.
  • Justice Itself is My Enemy
    • This frame shows Hyunckel telling how he became disillusioned with justice and fostered hatred in his heart.
    • It is a superior level memory that increases a character’s HP and defense characteristics to make them tougher.

Pre-ordering Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai will grant Dai’s special outfit, “Legendary Hero,” and the Bond Memory, “The Hero’s Tutor.”

The Digital Deluxe Edition will provide the following bonus content:

  • Popp’s special outfit: “Legendary Mage – Popp Outfit” based on the Mage from Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.
  • Maam’s special outfit: “Legendary Priest – Maam Oufit (Warrior Priest)” based on the Priest from Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.
  • Maam’s special outfit: “Legendary Martial Artist – Maam Outfit (Martial Artist)” based on the Martial Artist from Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.
  • Hyunckel’s special outfit: “Legendary Swordsman — Hyunckel Outfit (Dark Armour Blade)” based on the Swordsman from Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen.
  • Hyunckel’s special outfit: “Legendary Warrior – Hyunckel Outfit (Dark Armour Spear)” based on the Warrior from Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai, Dai and his new friends, including the princess of the Kingdom of Papnica, Leona, unite as they focus their efforts on defeating the revived Demon King Hadlar. On the way, they learn more about the world and their places in it and greet new party members as the threats become increasingly severe.

Players can experience the game either through Story Mode for classic progression or through the Temple of Recollection, a constantly changing dungeon with challenging monsters. Additionally, an integral facet of this game is Bond Memories, accessories with the double purpose of strengthening characters and housing scenes from the manga series as they’re unlocked. The Temple of Recollection can make these items even more potent, too.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on September 28, 2023, worldwide.
