Extremely Gory 2D Action Game ‘Infernax’ Gets 2022 Release Window in New Trailer

The Arcade Crew announced they will publish the Berzerk Studio-developed 2D action game Infernax on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Q1 2022.

Infernax is influenced by retro 8-bit games but decides to turn the gore to 11 with pixelated destruction in every scene. Although it has a gothic theme, the game is actually fairly bright allowing you to see all the fine pixel details.

The gameplay follows Alcedor, a knight who discovers evil magic has spread across the land while he was away. Armed with a mace and shield, he sets out to take down the demonic beasts who invaded his home. During gameplay, Alcedor gains experience and gold that is vital to obtain powerups and triggers some of the more intense kills. Morality-testing decisions made during his quest prompt consequences later in the adventure and influence which of the game’s multiple endings players receive.

The game features an open-world style where players can take on additional challenges with high rewards. However, the game is said to be highly difficult.
