Indie RPG ‘Edge of Eternity’ Gets Console Release Date on All Platforms

Dear Villagers announced that the Midgar Studio-developed adventure RPG, Edge of Eternity, will launch PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series on February 10, 2022. The game will release on Nintendo Switch as a cloud version on February 23, 2022.

The console release will feature all the updates and fixes that have been added to the PC version since launch. Further, the console version will receive the Japanese voice-over update on launch day. The game was initially a part of Kickstarter where 4000 backers made the development possible.

“Bringing this JRPG world to life has been a tremendous labor of love,” said Jeremy Zeler, founder of Midgar Studio. “I look forward to delivering this experience to the console players who have been so patient with our team. I think it’ll be worth the wait!”

Edge of Eternity has been in development by a small group of JRPG fans. Since it first launched on Steam Early Access, the game has seen regular updates and additional chapters as it expanded its systems and perfected its mechanics.

The story follows a soldier named Daryon and his group on their quest to save a dying world. Players will tackle quests in various ways as they fight monsters and towering bosses utilizing a turn-based battle system. The game also features musical tracks from Chrono Trigger and Xenoblade Chronicles composer Yasunori Mitsuda.
