Developer Monochromesoft has released Heatwave on PC. The game, which mixes a 2D fighter with a 42-chapter visual novel experience, is now available on Steam and itch.io at the discounted price of US$ 9.00 for its launch week.
A 2D Fighter with Multiple Mode Options
In the game, Earth has become uninhabitable due to apocalyptic heatwaves. Many years after, people now live on Earth, the Moon and the Underworld.
Heatwave was previously released in early access on itch.io without the story mode elements. With update 1.0, it’s now possible to enjoy the full experience, which includes various mode, such as Arcade, Survival and Combo Trial.
A Local Versus option is also part of the game and the title supports Remote Play Together on Steam. Altogether, there are 23 fighters, and some of them are unlockable secret options.
One of Heatwave’s main features is the fact that fighters can assume three different stances and this changes how they play. Speed Mode is a faster experience and focused on combos, making them ideal for beginners. Meanwhile, Power compensates speed with more damage, a special overdrive state and stronger parries. Finally, Team Mode allows players to change the basic assist with a second playable character to switch places with.
