Immortals of Aveum Releases Unpacked Trailer Diving into the World & Magic System

Immortals of Aveum is a first-person magic shooter announced earlier this year, confusing many about what exactly a magic shooter will entail. In this new trailer, Ascendant Studios has decided to explain the world and the magic players will surround themselves with.

The trailer initially opens up with a look at the world, detailing how magic is inherently a part of the world, from building and crafting to airships and other machinery. However, three kingdoms have been in a huge conflict to settle who will have the ultimate control of magic called the Everwar.

This magic is split into three colors: red, blue, and green. While these are different types of magic, all can damage enemies. So matching the color of attacks to the enemies’ aura will ensure that players save mana while doing extra damage. These colors also have their own strengths. Red magic is good up close; blue magic allows players to snipe from afar, and green magic enables players to stay mobile.

Further splitting these choices is fury spells, heavy attacks that will drain the player’s mana bar, forcing them to use a resource called mana crystals to restore it. Augment spells that will affect the world around them, either by allowing players to cross gaps or by moving heavy objects. Finally, control spells will allow players to take control of the battlefield by pulling, stunning, and slowing enemies. Mastering each color and category of magic will be vital in ensuring players survive the world of Aveum.

Jak, the main character, is a rarity in the world of Aveum called a triarch, able to master all three colors of magic. The world is threatened by Sandrakk, a ruler amassing power on the other side of the wound, an expanse of the void slowly devouring the realms. Jak has to become a master mage to defeat him and save all three kingdoms.

Finally, players will be able to customize Jak to suit their needs; there are twenty-five different spells to learn with eighty different talents to further augment how he controls. There will also be heavy gear customization, as players will be able to salvage and create gear with additional boosts. They are ensuring that no matter how players will like to play, there will be something for everyone.
