Playism revealed a few features coming to the GlitchPitch-developed idol-sim Idol Manager coming to PC-via Steam on July 27, 2021.
During gameplay, players can run a talent agency and recruit idols who have the skills to make it big. Players will have control over their training, free time, and roles within the group, as well as their performances. Idols can also perform at sporting events where other agencies are fighting to be included. Of course, this requires players to compose and perfect the perfect song to capture the committee’s attention.
Further, players can construct their own idol group theaters and cafes to perform in. This will boost the paid membership numbers to gain profit and allow the idols to connect with the fans. Dating will also be a choice, but it is frowned upon in the media. There are benefits to dating, though, such as keeping your idol happy, but that could also negatively affect you if you don’t make them the leader.
Idol Manager also supports Steam Workshop, so you can create your own idols if you want.
In Idol Manager, players take on the role of a manager tasked with cultivating and training the newest generation of pop idols. Their role allows them to choose who to hire and who to fire, as well as who gets promoted for doing a good job or reprimanded when they mess up.
Additionally, players will be able to peek into the girls’ personal lives and learn more about them. These interactions increase your relationship with the girls and allow them to be emotionally stable during tough situations. However, it’s possible that it could lead to heartache.
During gameplay, players also have to worry about gossip magazines, super fans, and rival groups, who are eager to bring drama to your group. Still, there’s an option for you to play dirty, but that might not be good for your mental state.
