Humble Games and Happy Ray Games Announce Physical Version of Ikenfell; Japanese Localization and Release This November

Publisher Humble Games and developer Happy Ray Games have announced that their critically acclaimed indie RPG, Ikenfell, will be receiving a physical release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch thanks to a partnership with Limited Run Games. Pre-orders for this physical edition will be available on September 24, 2021, via Limited Run Games’ official website.

Additionally, the title will finally be receiving a Japanese localization due to a partnership with Tokyo-based 8-4, Ltd. This version of Ikenfell will be released for Japanese audiences on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam this November.

Ikenfell tells the story of a group of magic students who finds themselves on an adventure with themes of friendship, trust, love, and loss. The game will allow players to create parties of the 3, with six characters available in total. There are 48 different spells to use in battle that include elemental and status damage. Encounters have layers of strategy thanks to movement around the battlefield. There are over 100 enemies to encounter, along with 22 boss battles.

Players can also explore the environments to discover more potent equipment and magic. If that wasn’t wholesome enough for you, the soundtrack was made by the composers of Steven Universe.

Ikenfell is currently available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
