HP Reveals VR Headset Developed in Collaboration With Valve and Microsoft

HP announced new hardware coming to the VR space with a headset referred to as the HP VR Headset. With details scarce on the hardware, the team has launched a teaser website to allow those interested to sign up for more details when they are available.

The HP VR Headset is being developed in collaboration with Microsoft and Valve as the next generation Virtual Reality HMD. The headset has also been tested on Valve’s VR title Half-Life: Alyx, to become the best way to play the game. The headset will be compatible with SteamVR.

Half-Life: Alyx is available now from Valve on PC-via Steam. The game is set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2 and is a complete VR experience. Players assume the role of Alyx Vance as she takes on the alien race known as the Combine.

Half-Life: Alyx has been developed from the ground up for virtual reality and aims to immerse the player in the world of Half-Life for an action-centric gameplay experience. Players will shoot and utilize various abilities as they clear rooms of enemies and uncover new truths about the series’ narrative.
