Honkai Star Rail Version 1.4 Update Releasing Mid-October 2023

During their Special Program, HoYoverse has announced the latest Version Update coming to Honkai Star Rail. Version 1.4, Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream, will be coming to PC and mobile on October 11, the same date the PS5 version comes out. This update will add two new areas, new characters, as well as a plethora of new events for players to enjoy.

After defeating Phantylia, resolving the Ambrosial Arbor crisis, and taking part in the restoration of the Xianzhou Luofu, players will go back to the first planet, Jarilo-IV. Both the Old Weapons Testing Ground and Pillars of Creation in Jarilo-VI will be uncovered for the very first time, and that is where our story will take us next.

Next up, new characters will be joining the cast. First, we have Jingliu, who was once regarded as the strongest sword master in the Xianzhou Luofu and also General Jing Yuan’s previous master. She is an Ice-Type character following the Path of Destruction who uses two different states in combat, switching between them with her Transcendent Flash. Her Ultimate, Florephemeral Dreamflux, will grant attack stacks that allow her to unleash a skill that does not consume Skill Points.

Following up, we have Topaz, a rising star in the Intrastelar Peace Corporation, and her partner Numby. Topaz and Numby are Fire-Type characters following the Path of The Hunt. Her skill, Difficulty Paying, will apply a Proof of Death status to the enemy, increasing follow-up damage by 25%. Her Ultimate, Turn a Profit, makes her partner Nummy enter a state that increases his damage and critical damage. Furthermore, Nummy will accompany her in the overworld, alerting her of nearby Treasure Chests.

Lastly, we have Guinafei, a street performer of many talents, but most notably livestreaming and Kuaiban. Though she’s not a local to the Xianzhou, she is super into its vast and profound culture, which is why the locals are rather fond of her. She is a Fire-Type character following the Path of Nihility. Her Ultimate, Watch This Showstopper, deals Fire Damage to all enemies, and also inflicts them with Burn. The first half of Version 1.4 will have Jingliu’s banner, and Guinafei and Topaz will be included in the banners of the second half of Version 1.4, alongside our very first reprint banner, with Seele.

The main event of Version 1.4 is titled Aetherium Wars, named after the universally recognized leading video game. Participants need to leverage Aether Spirits, which are digital replicas of creatures, to build and train their own combat companions, and take on the championship. As players advance through the competition, more formidable Overlord Aether Spirits can be obtained. Strategy is key to defeating your opponents.
