Honkai Star Rail ‘Even Immortality Ends’ Version Update Releasing July 19, 2023; New Areas & Characters

During the Honkai Star Rail Special Program, developer HoYoverse has announced the latest information regarding the second Version Update that will be coming to Honkai Star Rail. The update, titled Even Immortality Ends, will be releasing on July 19, 2023, and will feature new areas to explore, as well as new Story Quests and Companion Missions, and three new characters.

As Dan Heng finally reunites with the Astral Express Crew, the team will witness Xianzhou Luofu drowning in a setback that threatens the fate of the whole Alliance. Players will need to overcome a number of obstacles and explore two new areas: the Alchemy Commission and Scalegorge Waterscape, where decisive battles await. Players will reach the core of the Stellaron disaster and discover hidden truths buried in this gigantic Silkpunk flagship. This new area will also add two new Relic sets, and a new Boss.

Meanwhile, three new characters will be added to the roster. The first character is Blade, a five-star Wind-Type character who follows the Path of Destruction. Blade secures himself a competitive edge by sacrificing his own HP to deal amplified damage to enemies and gain the upper. His Technique, Karma Wind, when it hits an enemy in the overworld, 20% of Blade’s Max HP will be consumed, and it will deal Wind DMG equal to 40% of his Max HP to all enemies. His Ultimate, Death Sentence, will set his current HP to 50% of his Max HP and deal Wind DMG to a single enemy and the adjacent enemies based on his ATK, Max HP, and total HP lost in the current battle (up to a set limit).

Next we have Kafka, a five-star Lightning-Type character following the Path of Nihility. Kafka showcases her strength by dealing additional damage over time to enemies. Her Skill inflicts Lightning damage to multiple targets. If an enemy is already afflicted with Damage over Time (DoT), they will receive additional damage both during their turn and after Kafka’s attack. Her Ultimate, Twilight Trill, deals Lightning damage to all enemies, with a chance of Shocking targets and immediately dealing additional damage to those already Shocked.

And finally, we have Luka, a four-star Physical-Type character following the Path of Nihility. Luka’s Skill can inflict Bleed on enemies. During combat, he can gain stacks of Fighting Will through various methods. By consuming a certain number of Fighting Will stacks, he can use Enhance Basic ATKs that can immediately deal additional Bleed DMG equal to a certain percentage of the original DMG to Bleeding enemy targets.

Blade will be available in the “A Lost Soul” Character Warp event, which will occur in the first half of Version 1.2. As for Kafka, she’ll be available on the Nessum Dorma Warp event, available on the second half of the update. Luka will also debut at the same time as Kafka’s banner goes live.

Next we have the events of Version 1.2. The first event, Tales of the Fantastic has Xiyan interested in the Astral Express’s tale and is eager to work his storytelling magic. Another event, the Underground Treasure Hunt, offers a relic-seeking challenge featuring a special themed Chat Box reward.

Furthermore, Version 1.2 also unveils a new segment, The Voyage of Navis Astriger, in the Forgotten Hall, where Trailblazers can secure the 4-star character Yukong by conquering Stage 1. And Herta has also been hard at work adding to her Simulated Universe. In Version 1.2, the Universe will receive an update with the World 7 and never-seen-before Ornaments as prizes. Two new Companion Missions for Kafka and Yukong will also be added, allowing players to dive deeper into their backstories.

Honkai: Star Rail is a space fantasy RPG title with a journey through immense worlds of the unknown. The game features fantasy elements with myths and legends integrated into the space sci-fi story. Combined with the intuitive turn-based combat system, large maps with maze exploration and immersive storylines that together compose an interstellar melody filled with surprises and rewarding experiences that echo throughout the universe!

Implanted with a Stellaron, the protagonist bravely sets sail for the galaxy to drill down to the truth revolving around the so-called Cancer of All Worlds. Players will be able to experience a vast universe abundant in distinctive cultures, landscapes, and scenery. From the Herta Space Station, where the knowledge reserve of the universe and the forthcoming journey has been granted, to Jarilo-VI, where numerous dangers and conflicts are frozen beneath the snow, to Xianzhou Luofu, the silkpunk flagship infused with eastern fantasy where development and dispute are focusing on the topic of immortality.
