Homestuck Universe Visual Novels ‘Hiveswap Friendsim’ and ‘Pesterquest’ Coming to PS4, PS5, and Switch

Publisher Fellow Traveller has announced that Hiveswap Friendsim and Pesterquest are coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2023. The visual novels based on the Homestuck universe were originally developed by What the Pumpkin for the PC in an episodic format.

The console editions include all chapters of both visual novels and it’ll be possible to get them together in a pack called Pestersim. With the whole package, there are 32 volumes of story for those who want to dive deeper into the Homestuck and Hiveswap lore.

Homestuck is a webcomics series created by Andrew Hussie using MS Paint. It started in 2009 and had significant success leading it to expand into other media, including the Hiveswap series of adventure games.

Hiveswap Friendsim has the player crash-land on Alternia. As they try to survive the conditions, they’ll have the chance to make friends and learn more about the people from that universe. Its story is set during the events of Hiveswap: Act 1 but it features characters from Act 2.

Meanwhile, Pesterquest accuses the player to be the cause of some messy situations for the canon. Now it’ll be up to them to fix the issue on an important quest that will have them explore both Earth and Alternia. Finding answers and reconnecting with friends from the series will be important aspects of the experience.
