Hitman 3 Reveals a New Location, Chongqing, China

IO Interactive have introduced a brand new location for their upcoming title, Hitman 3. This new location, Chongqing, China takes Agent 47 across rainy, neon-lit streets of various shops and food stalls packed into compact, tight streets. Littered with secrets and other surprises, Chongqing, China aims to show players the drastic improvements and refinements that this highly anticipated entry in the franchise is receiving.

You can watch the Under the Hood trailer, showcasing this new location and IO Interactive’s Glacier engine in action:

Thanks to IO Interactive’s Glacier Engine, there will be improvements to lighting, reflection, animation and AI. Chongqing, China will feature full water effects to the extent where rain drops will physically alter Agent 47’s clothing, offering a brand new level of immersion. The areas will be far livelier compared to past entries as well, with this game boasting a maximum of 300 NPCs in a location at once.

Hitman 3 will run at 60 frames per second and 4K resolution on next generation consoles with HDR support.

Additionally, players can import locations from the prior 2 titles in the trilogy and have over 20 locations under one roof. The improvements via the Glacier engine can be applied to these prior locations as well.

Hitman 3 is releasing on January 30, 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC. This title will also be playable for Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming technology.
