Hitman 3 Gets Release Date With Free Next-Gen Upgrade With Digital Purchase

Square Enix announced that the IO Interactive-developed Hitman 3, will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC-via the Epic Games Store on January 20.

Like most players wondering about next-generation upgrades, the developer has confirmed that Hitman 3 will have a free upgrade to next-gen platforms for digital purchases. So, this means that if you purchase a digital copy on PlayStation 4, you can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version, and the same goes for Xbox One version. However, they make no mention of the physical version of the game, so digital may be the way to go if you plan on playing the upgraded version.

Also, pre-order bonuses for all versions include unique items, the Trinity Pack consists of a total of 9 items, with three distinct sets that represent a different game from the trilogy. Each set consists of a suit, briefcase, and weapon. From the White of Hitman 1, the Red of Hitman 2, or the Black of Hitman 3.

Hitman 3 is the sequel to Hitman 2, which was released in 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game was built on the previous installments where players travel the world and eliminate high-profile targets. How players approach missions is up to them as there are multiple ways to approach gameplay. Players also have access to a variety of gadgets that they can take into a mission to get to their objectives in style.
