Square Enix released a new docu-style trailer for the IO Interactive-developed Hitman 3, which has a planned release window for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 2021.
During the video, the Hitman 3 developers relaid their approach to creating this adventure and what went into crafting the environments and tools available to the player. The team aimed to try completely new things for the series by increasing the AI design to give players an immersive experience. The main story will lead the player through a particular set of missions, but players will also be able to go outside of that to complete additional tasks.
Furthermore, a lot of the progression from Hitman II will carry over to this new game. The weapons, various unlocks, and mastery levels will carry over to this new game so you don’t start brand new again and need to relearn certain skills.
Hitman III is the sequel to Hitman 2, which was released in 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game built on the previous installments where players travel the world and eliminate high-profile targets. How players approach missions is up to them as there are multiple ways to approach gameplay. Players also have access to a variety of gadgets that they can take into a mission to get to their objectives in style.
