Historical Strategy RPG ‘Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening’ Details Sieges, Terrain, Troop Management & More; New Screenshots
Koei Tecmo has shared new gameplay details for the upcoming Kou Shibusawa-developed historical strategy RPG Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, detailing the premise and various mechanics.
During 16th Century Japan, known as the Warring States Period, players will control a daimyō, a Japanese land owner, leader, and feudal lord. To manage the constantly altering worldly contexts, players must be cognizant of the best routes for their troops to march on since enemy movements and disadvantageous geography can spell significant issues otherwise.
Further, if your troops come across scuffles in their surrounding vicinity, one large-scale battle can occur, determining the futures of everyone present. As a result, knowing and adapting to these bouts is paramount for ensuring your staying power as a daimyō.
In order to expand your territory by taking control of the map, sieges must be mastered. These initiated attacks on enemies’ primary bases or other defensive positions involve surrounding parties, causing the scale of these conflicts to amplify drastically. Additionally, the terrain of each castle the enemy occupies differs, requiring unique approaches across every instance.
Some of the historic sites and terrain depicted in this title are the following:
- Nagashima – Stronghold of the Holy Rebellion at the mouth of the Kiso Three Rivers, which had many branches and blocked the Oda clan’s army.
- Kasugayama – The Castle of Kenshin Uesugi that overlooks the Sekigawa River and the Sea of Japan.
- Tsukui– A castle at the entrance to Yamanashi Prefecture on the Kantō Plain.
- Kameyama – A castle in Mie Prefecture, located between the Suzuka Mountains and Ise Bay.
Victories in sieges occur if all of the enemy’s units perish or their morale, which decreases over time, becomes nonexistent. And if you win, your authority throughout the map will grow, enhancing your legitimacy and prowess.
