Hironobu Sakaguchi and Naoki Yoshida Having Special Stream During TGS 2021; Final Fantasy XVI Will Be Discussed

A Famitsu editor and representative on Twitter announced that former veteran Square employee and creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, will be conversing with Naoki Yoshida, more commonly known as Yoshi-P from Final Fantasy XIV fans, during a special program in Tokyo Game Show 2021. Additionally, the contents of the conversation are to be shared by Famitsu.

What makes this stream especially significant aside from 2 video game icons conversing is that Sakaguchi intends to ask Yoshida about the upcoming and ever-elusive Final Fantasy XVI. This conclusion is based on 2 recent tweets from Sakaguchi, with one blatantly saying it and the other being in a more casual, friendly tone. Sakaguchi also remarks how he believes there will be simultaneous English and Chinese interpretations of the event, but that is not currently confirmed.

Still, it is worth acknowledging that the main subject of the conversation will be the ‘Appeal and Potential of RPGs’ and not solely Final Fantasy XVI. So, if anything specific for this upcoming mainline entry is mentioned, it will likely be minuscule information. Either way, it’s best to keep expectations tempered and not expect major news from this special broadcast, like a new trailer.

This special broadcast between Hironobu Sakaguchi and Naoki Yoshida will be taking place on Saturday, October 2, from 09: 00 to 09: 50 JST. We will keep you updated if any noteworthy information is revealed during this conversation.
