Hideki Kamiya recently uploaded his third YouTube video responding to various comments he has received, with several subjects discussed. One such topic regards the potential continuation of the Viewtiful Joe and Okami franchises.
While there wasn’t too much elaboration, Kamiya said that he would like to work on them if he ever got the chance to do so, and he even had the story for the third Veiwtiful Joe game thought out. Additionally, he feels he left Okami unfinished, so he would be happy if he could ever go back to working on that franchise.
Then, in the video, Kamiya said he’s waiting for Capcom to contact him with an offer, though it’s unclear if he’s just joking about such a notion.
For those unaware, Viewtiful Joe is a side-scrolling beat ’em up series that debuted on the GameCube and got two mainline entries as well as two other additional titles, Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble and Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble!
Okami, on the other hand, is a beloved action-adventure title using Japanese mythology as its most prominent facet. It debuted on the PlayStation 2 before seeing countless ports and a spiritual sequel/successor of sorts called Okamiden on the DS. The Okami series was confirmed to have sold over four million units earlier this year.
