Hidden Door has been announced as a browser-based interactive story that can be played either alone or with a group of friends. Players can choose what world they would like to play in, including any licensed products. For example, players can decide to play in a Star Wars adventure and modify it by choosing cards, which means that players can have an adventure focused on politics, romance, dungeons, or any other card type that the player already has.
Much like a session of DnD, the machine algorithm acts as a DM narrating the outcomes that come from players’ actions. This can be anything the player wants, but the DM will suggest actions based on what has already been typed; it is unclear if these recommendations have to be selected or are merely tools to get players to think differently.
Hidden Door is currently slated for a Winter 2023 release, but those interested can sign up at hiddendoor.co to be among the first to try out this new way to play with AI. We will update you as more information becomes available.
