Poni-Pachet Joseimuke VN ‘Haunted Obachestra’ Coming to the West; English Localization Kickstarter Campaign To Be Launched Next Month

Poni-Pachet and Moonchime Studios have announced plans for the localization of joseimuke visual novel Haunted Obachestra. While the English version doesn’t have a date yet, a Kickstarter campaign will be launched on July 2022 to gather funds for the project. While Moonchime will handle the English translation and the Kickstarter campaign, the game will be published on PC by Poni-Pachet themselves.

Haunted Obachestra tells the story of a young person (you can pick between male or female) who moves into a western-style house in the outskirts of Tokyo. While the place had an unbelievably cheap rent, they soon find out the place is rather unique. Not only is the house shared by a weird, mysterious bunch but it also has a basement with a strong dark aura.

One day music seems to be coming from the basement and the protagonist is way too curious to leave it alone. There they find out that the housemates are all monsters who love music and are practicing old-fashioned instruments for a festival called Melloween. By befriending them, the player will have the chance to learn about their circumstances in depth.

The story was written by Yumas (Ozmafia!!, Steam Prison) and characters are designed by PE-NekoR. Scenes are fully voiced, including the protagonist (default name Yukiha Nasu) whose seiyuu are Machico (female) and Takafumi Ono (male). The two main characters whose routes are part of the volume 1 released in Japan are Exnaz von Enterstein (CV: Kento Ito) and Merry Christhrnova (CV: Tomohito Takatsuka).

The cast also includes Gioh von Wolfhart (CV: Makoto Furukawa), Fumiyoni Hitokado (CV: Seichiro Yamashita), the triplets Henas, Dhyos and Treis Meidoh (all voiced by Tarusuke Shingaki), Erlucia Kaketsuki (CV: Toshinari Fukumachi), Stig klaus-näck Störtebeker (CV: Ryota Takeuchi), Laynnreix Finistère (CV: Shunichi Toki), Far Darrig (CV: Kazuyuki Okitsu), Ukai (CV: Shohei Komatsu), Subaru (CV: Miki Horiba), and Alexander von Enterstein (CV: Yohei Azakami).
