2D Action Platformer ‘Hardcore Mecha’ Gets Switch Release Date and Physical Edition
Lightning Games announced they will publish the RocketPunch Games-developed 2D action platformer title, Hardcore Mecha, on Nintendo Switch to release on October 15.
To celebrate the announcement the developer has put together a demo that showcases the game’s single-player mode and local multiplayer modes. The game will also launch with a special physical “Fighter Edition,” which will include all 6 paid DLCs on the cartridge. Pre-orders for the physical release are available in Asia now, but the team plans to open it for all regions soon.
The Switch version of the game will be playable on the go using the console hybrid. This includes the online game modes where players can face off against friends, or team up and take on groups of enemies. Currently, we don’t know if the DLC that has previously launched for the game will also be available for the Switch version.
Hardcore Mecha is a 2D platformer where players will choose a mech and set out on an adventure. During the campaign, players will take control of Tarethur, a mercenary on a mission to Mars in search of a missing intelligence officer. The story is told over eight chapters and 18 stages of various environments and encounters. There are also stages where pilots are able to exit their mech, which forces players to be a little more cautious during a fight.
Hardcore Mecha is currently available on PlayStation 4 and PC-via Steam.
