Shmup ‘Habroxia 2’ Revealed With Release Date and Physical PS4/Vita Details

Lillymo Games announced their next title as Habroxia 2 in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam to release on February 3, 2021.

Although this is a shoot em’ up adventure, Habroxia 2 does feature a story set after an attack on Free Space where a human-piloted scout ship sent to recover information didn’t return home. Now, his daughter, Sabrina, sets out on a mission to find him.

Habroxia 2 is a non-linear space shooter influenced by the likes of R-Type and Gradius. Players can fight their way through various missions with options to upgrade their ships and take out boss enemy types. The game also features a New Game+ mode to continue playing with added features.

The developer also announced that publisher EastAsiaSoft will handle a physical launch of the game on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, set to open pre-orders on December 3 (10 am ET / 4 pm UK / 11 pm Hong Kong).

Players can check out the announcement trailer that shows off the game’s environments and upgrade systems. Interestingly, the trailer also shows how the game shifts perspective from a vertical shooter to a horizontal shooter during certain missions.
