For those unaware of what Gurren Lagann is, it’s a 27-episode anime series by Studio Gainax focusing on a world that has forced humanity to live underground. However, protagonists Simon and Kamina find themselves yearning for the outside and eventually reach it via the Lagann mecha. The surface world is quite troublesome, though, and the duo faces countless threats alongside other humans up top.
