Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX is Full of Flashy Style and Action

The Gunvolt series is one that many 2D action platformer fans have held close to their hearts over the years. The series has constantly evolved to feature new skills, characters, abilities, and more. It’s no doubt that developer Inti Creates is looking to expand on this with their upcoming title, Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX will branch away from the series’ mainline protagonist, Gunvolt, and instead focus on the anti-hero, Copen. The developer has stressed that while fans of the series will appreciate some of the small nods to previous entries, this is a stand-alone title and can be played without knowledge of the previous games.

When it comes to playing as Copen, players will need to dash around the screen and tag enemies to unleash a barrage of cannon fire at them. It ultimately serves as an excellent way to chain together combos given that you acquire extra bullets as you dash and destroy enemies. Furthermore, the game features unique bosses and scenarios over the game’s story where Copen encounters a young girl named Kohaku who is a Minos and the leader of the Mino Children who live in the underground slums. Throughout the story, players will learn more about these characters and maybe even learn to like Copen a little more than they have in the past.
