Guilty Gear Strive Announces First Season 3 DLC Character, Johnny, Releasing This Month

Arc System Works has announced the first Season 3 DLC fighter for Guilty Gear Strive, Johnny, known as the Natural-Born Gambler. He is planned to launch on August 24, 2023. A significant game update is planned for the same date, implementing new mechanics and techniques.

One more Season 3 character is scheduled to release this year, while the other two are planned for 2024. Further, Season 3 ($24.99) will also see two additional stages and alternate colors.

Purchasing Johnny himself will cost $6.99.

A list of what to expect from Guilty Gear Strive in the near future is quoted below:

• 4 New Characters – Beginning with the Johnny DLC on August 24
• 2 New Systems – Introducing Wild Assault and Deflect Shield on August 24
• 2 Additional Battle Stages – Releasing later this year
• Additional Color Pack #3 – More details to come soon
• Plus, the Season Pass 3 Purchase Bonus – Enabling players to use a total of 12 additional character colors (4 characters x 3 colors)

“… the Wild Assault offensive mechanic for a rush attack move with powerful effects, and the Deflect Shield defensive mechanic that creates a large distance between you and your opponent after blocks.

Guilty Gear: Strive is the newest entry in the Guilty Gear series. The game was created by Daisuke Ishiwatari and developed by Arc System Works to bring a hybrid 2D/3D fighter to fans.
