New Guilty Gear Officially Named ‘Guilty Gear: Strive’ in Trailer
Arc System Works launched a new trailer for Guilty Gear, now titled Guilty Gear: Strive, coming in 2020.
To celebrate the announcement, the developer released a new trailer for the game showing all of the announced characters so far. The trailer also offers a nice preview of each of the characters in battle and some of their special abilities. The newest characters to be added to the game were Chipp and Potemkin. The trailer also reveals a new character, Faust.
Guilty Gear: Strive is hot off of its first public demo shown at Arcrevo America 2019. At the event, the developer allowed event-goers to go hands-on with the game and test out the announced six characters.
In case you missed it, Daisuke Ishiwatari confirmed that the game will include an English dub along with Japanese voice-overs. However, the demo that was shown at the event only featured Japanese voices.
Guilty Gear was originally created in 1998 as a 2D fighting game for hardcore fans of the genre. The series continued this approach in its design as well as excelling in creating a pretty metal and upbeat soundtrack for every title. Currently, the newest title in the series was released in 2017 as Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, which introduced 2 new playable characters and added a rebalancing update to the rest of the roster. Additionally, the updated game also released on PC and console simultaneously, which was a first for the series.
In case you missed it, check out the game’s reveal trailer as well as May’s character trailer and Axl’s.
